Dave Wrangler – Heads Up Houston Vol. 1
Depending on who you talk to, Dave Wrangler will mean different things. Some know him because of his Notorious B I G vs Peter Bjorn and John mashup of Party and Bullshit. Others know him for the indie favorite Animal Collective My Girls remix that one blog called the best song of 2009 so far. Then again, others know him for his 2008 release Bounce Party Bootleg Sessions Vol 1 which contains 28 remixes of indie, electro, and hip hop media darlings. You can download that album here. Most recently he has been working on the album Heads Up Houston Vol. 1 set for release at Boondocks on Friday, February 20. This album of mashup mastery pays tribute to Houston’s coming up artists Benjamin Wesley, Cornbreadd, Fat Tony, Studemont and Houston staples Beyonce, Chamillionaire, Bun B, and others.
Although he has only been pushing his eclectic style of indie-electro since 2008, Dave has released a staggering amount of music. Alot of that music is available at his website free. If Dave keeps dropping bombs like these, the world will be a much better place. Subservient Experiment suggested someone book this guy for their next party, so we did just that. Keep posted for more details in the upcoming week.

dear dave wrangler, stop biting off of hands up houston and lay off animal collective for your remixes. i know you were trying to market yourself by being the first one to remix “my girls” but you have missed, badly.
Yeah the heads up Houston thing is a pretty nerd name and way to similar to Hands Up.
I seriously feel bad for the dude..
He comes off as one big nerd with a dated and played out mash up sound that tries way to hard to be cool.I am sure the douche bag set will love him though.
Lets hope his local act remix work stands strong.
Jesus… I forgot how bitter you kids are back in Houston.
Here in LA, his stuff gets a ton of positive reception. I think its a good sign when you hear his stuff playing out of clubs, parties, and random peoples cars (no joke).
Maybe you kids should focus on enjoying good music… instead of posturing for your fledgling scene.
To all those haters… Have you actually SEEN Dave Wrangler ROCK a crowd? Maybe you should… He might rock you too…
