Glasnost Releases and Upcoming Shows

I’ve always liked the music Glasnost makes, and their live shows are entertaining as well.  What makes things better, they have been busy creating more music.  Corridor was released last month on Robot Dance Records to announce their forthcoming album, Decade, which is due to drop in early July. Take a listen and post.

Gotta Dance Dirty listed Glasnost as one of the top 10 acts to follow in 2011. Since then, the band joined acts such as, LexiconDon, Hey Champ!, Classixx and more in live shows and will be touring the US this summer. Since Corridor’s release, the track has been ranked on sites like HypeMachine, Beatport and Gigacreates in their top 20 and top 50 most popular tracks.

If you aren’t able to catch them tonight, the have another show next week.

5/14 Help Grrrl Parts in their time of need..

For those of you who are not aware, on April 9th, GRRRL Parts car was broken into and most of their DJ equipment was stolen. Those mofo’s knew who GRRRL Parts was for the obvious reason that the car was jimmied and no other car was tampered with in the parking lot. Karma is a bitch and that sucka will get theirs…. BUT…. in the mean time, GRRRL Parts needs the love and support of everyone right now so that they can raise money to buy their equipment so that they can continue throwing awesome parties in Houston that many people know and love. ♥

5 dollars recommended donation but if you got more help these ladies out. Grrrl Parts have been working hard at providing us with a fun night week after week and we must ban together to help them continue to do what they do best. Many people, from musicians Djs and artists have banned together to show their love so please show yours by coming out and having a good time…. pass it on.

glasnost copyBands Das Automatic & DJ Cuba Gooding Jr. merged to form Glasnost. Fusing elements of bands such as New Order and Cut Copy while combining the energy of a live rock show, Glasnost has become known for their stellar live performances. Their sound is far from typical: driving dance beats, lush vocal arrangements and multi-layered instrumentation. Influences include MSTRKRFT, Midnight Juggernauts, Justice and Gang of Four. Their forthcoming EP, The Great Divide, is out soon.

The Sour Notes are a dreamy pop band hailing from Austin. Beginning in Houston as the solo project of songwriter Jared Boulanger, it wasn’t until moving to Austin that he transformed The Sour Notes into the full-fledged performance ensemble it is today. Since 2008, the band has released two full-length albums, The Meat of the Fruit and Received in Bitterness, as well as a 7″ single. They’ve toured nationally and appeared on Austin’s KVRX-FM program ‘Local Live’.
